| Edwards Printing Services Inc, is a small business that provides big business printing services to customers all over North Texas. Established in 1978 by Larry Edwards, the company has expanded from a home-grown “garage” business to about 15 employees at two store locations in Dallas and Frisco. “I was a full time musician and started the printing business on the side,” Mr. Edwards said. “As the printing business grew, the roles had to be reversed. Printing became my number one priority. I found that the printing business was more lucrative, and it has been growing ever since. Four years ago, Mr. Edwards expanded the company by opening the Frisco store. His daughter and son-in-law help run the business, so it’s a family operation. Mr. Edwards said he still is a musician at heart, but he is dedicated to the printing and multimedia business he has developed from the ground up using the latest technology. The company uses computer-to-plate (CTP) direct imaging technology, which means projects are submitted electronically and transferred directly to a polyester or metal printing plate. Without this technology, printing services would require film to create plates in order to print a product. The CTP technology eliminates the time-consuming process of creating film, allowing the company to handle more business quickly and at a higher quality. In addition, the direct to press (DTP) process is the latest technological advancement in the printing world, in that the customer’s file are sent directly to the press where titanium plates are burned in place. This is perfect for short to medium runs on four color printing or spot colors. From business cards to commercial design and printing, Edwards Printing Service can help with just about any project. We pride ourselves on delivery times and quality, giving the customer what they want and a little bit more. Edwards Printing Service offers a prepress department that features a Macintosh and PC platform, as well as scanners, laser printers and high resolution color printers for proofing. The company’s press department has six presses, including a two-color, 12 x 18 inch Ryobi, a five-color 20 x 26-inch Komori Lithrone, and the latest addition, a Ryobi 13 x 18-inch digital imaging press. The in-house bindery and letterpress department provides cutting, folding, binding, shrink wrapping, laminating and other services to create the finished product. Delivery and shipping service are also offered. With its wide array of printing equipment, Edwards Printing can tailor a project to fit the customer’s needs perfectly.
